More-Holy-Spirit Opportunities
Called and Gifted:
Introductory Workshop
by the Catherine of Siena Institute
Background of this Ministry
This Ministry was the outgrowth of interviews with many thousands of Church members and leaders all over the nation, looking at what was working and what was not working in leading to healthy churches. As a result, this ministry is based upon sociological data and review of history, combined with a rich Catholic spiritual underpinning, They found, historically and currently, that where churches valued not just natural talents but sought after enabling people to embrace biblically identified gifts of the Spirit, there tended to be more vigorous life. There are several books written by Sherry Weddell on the subject of the importance of Spirit-endowed gifts to the individual and to the Church.
Called & Gifted: Introductory Workshop by the Catherine of Siena Institute
The introductory workshop is the first part of the three part Called & Gifted discernment process. In this workshop people learn about charisms: what they are and how we can cooperate with Jesus and the Holy Spirit to exercise these spiritual gifts. The ministry team covers 23 of the most commonly found charisms as well as a five-step process for discerning the charisms God has given therm!
Their experienced, well-traveled and exceptionally gifted teachers await the opportunity to bring the Called & Gifted Introductory Workshop to parishes, diocese or leadership groups live in a one-day format!

ALPHA COURSES
Over 30 million people from over 100 countries have attended Alpha. There are 3 varieties of Alpha Video courses. Each features a meal and socializing, followed by a half hour or less movie and the small group break-out session where no question is fair-game.
Alpha invites everyone to ask big questions; none are too hostile or too simple. It is modeled upon what Jesus did. In John’s Gospel, some of Jesus’ soon-to-be disciples were curious (perhaps cautious), and they watched Jesus from afar. Rather than giving them all the facts about himself, Jesus simply invited them to “Come and you will see.” Whether you would call yourself a follower of Jesus or not, we expect that you have questions (we still do!).
One series of videos is aimed at Youth, and produced by people in their 30s, but they are so humorous and charming that they are enjoyed by most older participants as well.
o features a retreat day with 4 talks and discussion sessions that invite everyone to experience more of the Holy Spirit. Usually from that experience future leaders come.

ChristLife Courses:
Discovering Christ; Following Christ; Sharing Christ
The ChristLife series is designed to be repeated and become the “core curriculum” for evangelizing and forming adults as missionary disciples, in your parish. It takes several cycles of running the ChristLife series before a big impact in the parish is felt and before people beyond the boundaries of the parish are reached. Ideally every single person in the parish and the surrounding neighborhood should be invited to personally encounter Jesus Christ and follow Him as missionary disciples. Our parishes need a regular venue where friends, family, and acquaintances to personally encounter Jesus Christ.
Moving From Participants to Team Members
One of the best ways for “graduates” of the ChristLife process to put what they’ve learned into practice is to serve as a team member in the next cycle of ChristLife. The Sharing Christ teachings explicitly encourage participants to consider serving as team members on upcoming Discovering Christ course. It is crucial to help participants move from being “consumers” of the ChristLife process to “providers.” Getting involved in service to others through the ChristLife processis one of the best ways to grow spiritually. In addition, it is important to have new team members to replace members from the previous year’s team who may be.
Young people who go through these courses often become very involved in ongoing ChristLife Youth Ministries, which acts as a spiritual growth opportunity and supports Christian Youth networking.
The Gift Course
Another form of Life in the Spirit Seminar from England: The Gift
The Gift – a life in the Spirit course
Last Summer I was privileged to be in the Olympic Stadium in Rome to hear Pope Francis speak to more than 50,000 Catholics belonging Charismatic Renewal.
It was there that he gave a clear mission statement when he said: “I expect you to share Baptism in the Spirit with the whole Church.”
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a simple, life-transforming gift of renewal that 150 million Catholics worldwide have experienced.
In today’s world many are looking for a deeper spirituality and are open to investigating this within in a non-threatening, relaxed environment.
To meet these needs and in obedience to the Holy Father, Catholic Faith Exploration (CaFE) has produced a TV quality course for parishes, groups and individuals to explore the grace of living life in the Spirit.
It’s a six-session, fun and practical resource presented by David Payne, Michelle Moran, Charles Whitehead and Jenny Baker to a lively and diverse studio audience. This is complemented by the testimonies of Catholics explaining how the Holy Spirit helps them in their daily lives.
It also includes a powerful movie presentation of the Cross by the Billy Graham Organisation as an optional extra session.
The resource – available either as a DVD or download – comes equipped with full web support, with a short trailer for potential guests, training and other resources for leaders. Watch the video below for a taster, or go to www.thegiftofthespirit.org for more details.
Holy Spirit 101

Developed to acquaint ” Normal Catholics” to the reality of supernatural gifts for everyone – with a series of practical exercise that help people experience the Holy Spirit in new ways. This course was develope by a “Normal Catholic” who had not connection with the so-called Charismatic Renewal who researched the place of the Holy Spirit throughout the centuries in the Catholic Church.
Traditional Life in the Spirit Seminars
What is the Life in the Spirit Seminar?
Life in the Spirit Seminars are offered as a series of talks over 5-7 weeks. More than a series of lectures, these Seminars are a chance for Christians to experience a fuller release of the Holy Spirit to live a deeper Christian life. The Life in the Spirit Seminar introduce people to a fuller experience of life in the Spirit by exploring the intimate relationship between “baptism in the Holy Spirit” and the sacraments of baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. The seminar invites and prepares us to experience a fuller release of the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts as in a personal Pentecost.
The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let him who hears say, “Come.” And let him who is thirsty come, let him who desires take the water of life without price.” Revelation 22:17
